DOUBLIU is a research-driven digital decision-support platform developed to strengthen decentralised solid waste management systems through citizen participation and information accessibility.
The application has been conceptualised and developed by Nimmi Babychan, Research Scholar, Research and PG Department of Environmental sciences, All Saints ‘ College,University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. under the Guidance of Dr. Reshma J.K , Associate professor, Research and PG Department of Environmental sciences,All Saints ‘ College, Thiruvananthapuram as an outcome of her doctoral research on innovative and modern approaches to municipal solid waste management, with a focus on Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation.
DOUBLIU translates empirical field research, policy frameworks, and socio-spatial analysis into a functional digital platform that assists users in identifying appropriate waste management solutions based on waste category, location, scale of generation, and management method. The platform supports regulatory alignment and promotes decentralised waste processing, resource recovery, and circular economy principles.
The application is intended for pilot-level implementation, academic validation, and public awareness enhancement, and is strictly non-commercial in nature. It is designed to support government initiatives by improving access to authorised waste management infrastructure and encouraging informed public participation.
The software development and technical implementation of the DOUBLIU application were executed by HYVR Software Solutions, ensuring technical robustness, scalability, and usability.
